COGIG APPOINTS LEADERSHIP TALENT OF THE YEAR

FEMALE LEADER ENGINEER

On November 14, Anna-Natalia Pardali Moustakas was named the 2023 Female Leader Engineer of the Year, an award given to a female or non-binary engineering student who has the potential to occupy a senior leadership position in industry in the future.

Female Leader Engineer is run by CoGig AB and is a program aimed at female and non-binary engineering students with the ambition and potential to occupy leading positions in industry. The aim of the program is to create a platform for female and non-binary engineering students and companies to meet, to make role models visible in the industry and to encourage female and non-binary students for future roles in leadership. The program also functions as a selection process to appoint this year's Female Leader Engineer, who receives a tailored self-leadership program together with Anna Landegren from Nya Ledarskapet. On November 14, Anna-Natalia was named Female Leader Engineer of the Year 2023. Anna-Natalia studies the Master of Science in Engineering and teacher program at the Royal Institute of Technology.

Female Leader Engineer collaborates with some of Sweden's leading companies that represent several different areas within Swedish industry and that see the importance of diversity and equality. This year's partner companies are: AFRY, Ericsson, Fortum, KONE, Sandvik, Scania, Skanska, Sodexo, Stora Enso and SSAB.

"AFRY gets involved in Female Leader Engineer because we strongly believe in actively working for an equal distribution in leadership roles. Company management sets the tone for the culture and we believe it is crucial to include different perspectives. Through collaboration between both women and men and a wider diversity of mindsets, we strive to create more exciting and successful results," says Ylva Berg, VP and Head of Business Area Digital Services at AFRY.

"We have chosen to cooperate with you and be part of FLE from the start, as we at Scania understood early on that diversity and equality make the business prosperous and successful. You have shown year after year that you work hard for an equal society, and we want to support that while getting help to reach out to good students. Increased diversity and balanced gender balance, not least in leading positions, is actually business critical for us at Scania. Through increased diversity and thus that we get more perspectives on leading positions, we promote that our analyses, methods and results are better," says Mona Samoiel, HR Business Partner at Scania.

"It is a matter of course for us to be part of Female Leader Engineer, a way for us to enjoy the privilege of meeting many talented people, whom we would like to have with us as employees, who can contribute to us. These are top notch candidates," says Per Lyrvall, CEO of Stora Enso Sweden.

“Sandvik proudly supports the Female Leader Engineer, recognizing that diversity not only enriches our teams but also promotes innovation. By empowering today's female leaders and nurturing the talents of future trailblazers, we are shaping a more diverse, dynamic and successful future in engineering," says Annika Langéen, Vice President Offer Management and R&D, Sandvik Coromant

The jury's motivation reads: This year's Female Leader Engineer is a person who does not hesitate to roll up her sleeves in the face of difficult challenges. Courageous, empathetic and with great trust in others, it is a person who raises his voice when others do not dare to step forward. The person has a unique ability to bring people together through his humble way of lifting and including. The burning interest in people and leadership has shone through throughout the program. With his strong will to create change and focus on results, we see this person in a future senior leadership position at one of the program's partner companies.

This is what Anna-Natalia Pardali Moustakas says about her participation in the program and about the award: "Female Leader Engineer has given me a belief in myself, my own competence and my place in the technical industry, as well as a self-confidence that I did not have before. The program has provided a fanatical network that is supportive, that believes in each other and in me. I have met so many people who have and will continue to support and believe in me in my career as a leader.”
