COGIG APPOINTS FEMALE TECH PIONEER OF THE YEAR

FEMALE TECH ENGINEER

Female Tech Engineer is a talent program for female and non-binary engineering students and is part of CoGig's annual push to promote diversity and equality in the tech industry. On March 6, Alexandra Nylander was named Female Tech Engineer of the Year 2024, an award given to an engineering student who has shown strong potential to influence the tech industry.

Female Tech Engineer is part of CoGig's annual effort to promote diversity and equality in the technology sector. The program focuses on female and non-binary engineering students with ambitions to develop the systems and products of the future in tech. Through the program, a platform is created where students and companies meet, female engineers are raised as role models and students are encouraged to follow a successful career in tech.

Alexandra Nylander, who studies Technical Design at Chalmers University of Technology, was named Female Tech Engineer of the Year 2024. The prize is awarded to an engineering student with exceptional potential to positively influence the tech industry. Throughout the program, Alexandra has shown curiosity and commitment to creative problem solving using tech to meet society's various challenges.

The jury's reasoning:
"The Female Tech Engineer of the year has distinguished herself with her passion for creative problem solving with the help of tech. Her commitment to societal challenges and sustainability, always with the users' needs and perspectives in focus, is at the center of her work. Her innovative business idea received unanimous praise from the jury, confirming her thoughtful approach. She has no problem letting her voice be heard and standing up for her ideas, all with qualities such as calmness, clarity and professionalism. Throughout the program, her curiosity and commitment have been prominent. She has an excellent understanding of the connection between the technology, the user and the business and we are confident that she will be valuable to our partner companies in the future.”

The program has established partnerships with leading companies in Sweden, which include Husqvarna Group, KPMG Sweden, Munters, Mycronic, Nasdaq, Northvolt, Senior Material and Nya Ledarskapet. These companies support the program as part of their commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within their organizations.

"Participation from Nasdaq is important to motivate and inspire women to not only get involved in technology, but also to continue to increase women's representation to create more diverse and creative solutions," said Mangla Sekhri, Senior Director, Global Technology European Markets- PMO, Data Services at Nasdaq.

"Leading innovation is Munter's strength, and this will continue to be critical to our success. Our strong commitment to Female Tech Engineer shows how important it is to us to attract skilled female engineers. By promoting women in technology, we not only drive innovation forward, but we also promote a more sustainable future for future generations," says Pia Brantgärde Linder, President FoodTech at Munters.

A central part of the program is the appointment of the Female Tech Engineer of the Year, who is rewarded with a tailored self-leadership program in collaboration with Anna Landegren from Nya Ledarskapet.

Alexandra Nylander, Female Tech Engineer of the Year 2024, shares her experiences:
"The entire award is in some way a confirmation that you can be involved in change, have an impact and be a tech pioneer. It had been a very real program - both meeting companies and all the participants. Getting to meet all the other participants and discuss various issues is something that I have really valued.”

The program also included prominent participants from various universities and colleges in Sweden. These talented students have undergone an intense and inspiring journey during the program.
