INTERVIEW TIPS FOR HIRING MANAGERS
ENSURE THE RIGHT MATCH WITH YOUR TEAM
The fact that you, as a recruiting manager, meet selected candidates for an interview is an important part of the recruitment process. If you have hired CoGig, the first screening has already been done and competences and potential have already been examined and assessed in an interview. The candidates we present are carefully selected to match what you are looking for and we recommend that you meet everyone we present to you. Your role as an interviewer is to ensure the person's skills, but above all to assess whether the person could fit into your team, with you and has the ability to develop and grow with the company.
BEFORE THE INTERVIEW
Think about who should attend the interview (preferably only bring a maximum of one person).
A first interview can take place digitally if it suits better, but make sure to meet if you go further.
Set an agenda for the interview - prepare by reading the person's CV and preferably LinkedIn profile.
If you interview several, preferably ask the same questions to everyone for the sake of comparability.
DURING THE INTERVIEW
Sell both the role and the company, not least the work culture. Make the person find both the company and the role interesting and exciting.
Be clear about the role description early in the interview (the same title may mean something different at another company).
Focus on what you will accomplish and how you will know you have done a good job. Give concrete examples.
Assess the candidate's potential, i.e. ability to learn and develop on the spot.
Let the meeting become a dialogue.
Allow time for questions.
Be clear about the next step and the process as a whole.
