Location: Kista / Hybrid (approx. 2 days onsite per week)
Company: Munters – global climate control and air-treatment solutions innovator

Who We Are
At Munters, we design and deliver sustainable, energy-efficient climate control systems that help keep industrial and commercial environments safe, efficient, and future-proof. We’ve been innovating since 1955 and operate worldwide with a focus on quality, sustainability and inclusion. Our culture is driven by collaboration, curiosity and respect for diverse perspectives.

What You’ll Do
As an Embedded Linux Developer you’ll take technical ownership of our gateway product — a critical embedded Linux-based system that connects industrial devices (like dehumidifiers and sensors) to Munters cloud services. You’ll work across firmware, build systems, networking and IoT-enabled integrations, helping shape the future of our connected edge-devices.

Responsibilities include:
  • Technical development and maintenance of embedded Linux software and images (not just package installs).
  • Working with embedded toolchains and build systems (Buildroot/toolchain configuration).
  • C++ development and debugging in firmware contexts.
  • Collaborating closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless hardware/software integration.
  • Driving solutions independently with an ownership mindset.

Experience We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
  • Practical experience with Embedded Linux in a product/firmware environment.
  • Experience with build systems/toolchains (particularly Buildroot).
  • Solid experience in C++ development, ideally in embedded systems.
  • Familiarity building images/firmware and versioning workflows.
  • Strong skills in Linux development environments, tooling, and debugging.

Nice to have, but not required:
  • Background with routers/gateways or industrial connectivity systems.
  • Exposure to protocols like MQTT and/or Modbus.
  • Experience reducing unnecessary components in embedded platforms (e.g., OpenWrt configurations).

Personal Attributes
  • Comfortable driving work independently with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Structured thinker who persists through complexity.
  • Collaborative by nature with confidence in technical judgment.
  • Curious about change and continuous improvement within evolving teams.

What We Offer
  • A role with real impact in a global leader in climate solutions.
  • Competitive compensation including bonus, benefits portal, pension and health insurance.
  • Options for a company car and wellness support.
  • A culture that values learning, diversity and inclusion.
  • A supportive onboarding process and opportunities to grow your career in embedded systems and industrial IoT.

Perks & Practical Info
  • Stable team with opportunities to grow across the stack.
  • Hybrid work (onsite ~2 days/week).
  • Two-step interview process (management + technical team).
  • English language skills are required (Swedish isn’t mandatory).

Keywords to include when applying: Embedded Linux, Buildroot, toolchain, firmware images, gateway, C++, edge device, industrial IoT, Modbus, MQTT.
